DogHub (working concept)
DogHub is a working idea for a calm, dog-centred space that helps people make better decisions for themselves and their dogs.
This page is private and exists purely as a mock-up to explore what DogHub might become. Nothing here is public or finished.
DogHub is exploring three connected ideas.
First, a dogs-only assistant.
This is a dogs-only assistant designed to help people think through behaviour, training, welfare, enrichment, safety, equipment, dog-friendly places, and the human–dog relationship in a calm, non-judgemental way. It is intended to support reflection and understanding, especially for people who may feel anxious, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start.

Second, DogHub reviews.
DogHub reviews are not star ratings or recommendations. They are intended as reality checks.
The focus is on what a place is actually like for dogs and people, so others can make informed choices without surprises, pressure, or marketing gloss.
DogHub reviews would focus on practical details such as:
• fencing type and condition
• gates and access points
• livestock nearby
• visibility and sightlines
• water access
• parking and arrival stress
• seasonal or time-of-day changes
• how predictable the environment feels
Example (draft):
Location: Woodland loop near Spean Bridge
Unfenced woodland path with good sightlines for most of the route. Occasional livestock in adjacent fields but not usually on the path. Can be busy at weekends and during tourist season. Best suited to dogs comfortable seeing others at a distance. Limited parking at entrance.
Third, trails, walks, and places.
DogHub could also explore trails, walks, and places with an emphasis on suitability rather than popularity.
Rather than “best walks”, the focus would be on helping people choose places that fit their dog, their confidence level, and the kind of day they are having.
This could include considerations such as:
• calm versus busy environments
• enclosed versus open spaces
• livestock risk
• surface and terrain
• accessibility
• seasonal restrictions
• alternative options when a plan needs to change
Scope note.
DogHub only covers dog-related questions and situations. It does not replace a vet, behaviourist, or legal advice. This is a concept test and thinking space, not a finished service.
